Aristotle said getting up early is the source of his thoughts. I am a loyal backer of getting up early. I browsed the internet and found that almost every successful person is an early riser, including Mark Zuckerberg, Li Ka-shing, Tim Cook, etc. I think the logic behind it, and finally found three reasons.

The first reason is that I will have more daytime. Getting up early helps me lengthen the daytime drastically. It’s huge different getting up at 6 from getting up at 10. Just by rising earlier, I can recite 120 more pages of books, 40 more kilometers of jogging, and so on. My grade will be much higher than those late risers. Life is short, so it requires us to squeeze more time for every day.

The second reason is that I will have a clear mind. When getting up at 10, it’s already at noon. The temperature is high and it only keeps me in bed longer. Hotness makes people lazier, no matter what places they are in. When getting up at 6, I can have a clear plan what to do for the day. What’s more, it gives me more time for deep thinking and meditation, so that I will reduce the probability of mistake.

The third reason, perhaps the most important one, is the health. Getting up earlier makes me healthier. If I get up at 6, I can eat breakfast at around 7, and have lunch at 12. So there are 5 hours between two meals. It will have enough time to digest the nutrition. Most late risers skip breakfast because it’s already the time for lunch. As a result, they eat two meals and usually one midnight snack a day, which is tremendously imbalanced in nutrition. Early riser lives longer, it is true in most of the cases.

To have more time for life, a clear mind and live a healthy life, I will keep being an early riser. I hope that my effort to get up early every day will finally pay off.
